Junko Sakuraba is currently employed as an English instructor at an English Language School situated in Tokyo. Despite being 27 years of age, she still remains unwed and desires to experience an exciting and luxurious life overseas. However, her aspirations are far from reality. Thus, when her family compels her into an arranged meeting with Hoshikawa Takane, Junko reluctantly agrees. Unfortunately for her, Hoshikawa is a monk who expects his future partner to abstain from any employment and lead a reserved and modest existence suitable for a monk's wife. Junko is mortified and swiftly declines his proposal, but Hoshikawa is not one to easily give up. As a result, a gripping story ensues in which Junko must navigate her way through the obstacles that present themselves to her.
