After spending the entire summer working and taking make-up exams, Hajime Ichijou discovers that he is the only one without a partner on the first day of the new term, as couples surround him. Feeling left behind in this wave of romance, Hajime soon meets the beautiful Chitose Ninomiya, who coincidentally transfers to his class and is also unattached.
As the only two single people in their class, Hajime and Chitose quickly become the center of attention, leading others to assume that they will become a couple. However, their constant bickering and inability to compromise may make their romantic prospects more challenging than anticipated.
