Yutaka Hozumi's difficulty eating with others has been a longstanding struggle, with complaints that his presence is dull and ruins the flavor of meals. One day while eating alone, a hungry little boy approaches him and Yutaka kindly gives him his onigiri. This leads him to meet Tane and Minoru Ueda, two siblings who form an unlikely friendship with Yutaka despite their age difference.
Enamored by Yutaka's delicious rice balls, Tane begs him to teach them how to make them. Initially intimidated by Minoru and caught off guard by Tane's cuteness, Yutaka agrees to teach them cooking.
As their cooking lessons continue, Yutaka and the siblings grow closer. But memories resurface for Yutaka, and underlying feelings emerge during these meals that he didn't expect. The close bond between Tane and Minoru only adds to his discomfort.
