Shinjou seeks to reinvent himself when he enters high school, having struggled with unpopularity in middle school. As he strives to fit in with his transformed appearance and demeanor, he unexpectedly runs into Kurai Kako, a former classmate who had been equally unnoticed. Kako has also undergone a metamorphosis and aims to land a significant other in high school. The two decide to make a wager and compete to see who can secure a girlfriend or boyfriend first.
