The setting of the series is Shibuya in 2008, where strange events have been taking place. The protagonist is Takumi Nishijou, a student at Suimei Academy who is unaware of the recent happenings in Shibuya. The media has dubbed the two incidents as New Generation events. The first event, "Group Dive," occurred on September 7th, where five high school students committed suicide by jumping off a high tower. The second event took place on September 19th, where a male was found dead with a fetus inside his abdomen.
On September 28th, Takumi talks to his online friend Grim, who educates him about the New Generation events. A stranger named Shōgun joins the conversation, remaining silent until Grim leaves. Shōgun sends Takumi gruesome murder images that leave him disturbed. The following day, Takumi stumbles upon the same scene he saw in Shōgun's pictures and meets a bloody pink-haired girl in Suimei Academy's uniform. He runs away, but his fate becomes entangled with the New Generation events, despite his efforts to avoid them.
