During the final months of the Pacific War, San and Mayu were two schoolgirls residing in Okinawa who worked as nurses alongside their peers to care for wounded soldiers. However, when they were commanded to sacrifice their lives for their country, their fellow classmates abandoned them. This left the two girls stranded in a hazardous tropical setting that had transformed into a frightening battleground.
