Junpei Murao's love for dance was ignited by his older sister's ballet performance. The young boy was mesmerized by a male performer who took the center stage, and from then on, Junpei threw himself into the art, learning everything he could from his sister and in ballet class. Despite the teasing from his peers and his father's insisting that he should choose a more masculine sport, Junpei remained committed to ballet. Sadly, when his father passed away from a heart attack, Junpei's passion for ballet was put on hold as he turned to Jeet Kune Do, a martial art that was influenced by Bruce Lee.
Years later, in middle school, Junpei had dedicated himself to Jeet Kune Do and was living up to his father's expectations. One day, while showing off his moves to his friends, Junpei amazed his classmates by combining ballet with martial arts, pulling off an impressive kick. Miyako Godai, a classmate, was so impressed that she insisted Junpei compete for her mother's ballet studio. As Junpei was pulled back into the world of ballet, he struggled to balance his outward appearance with his true desires.
