The 78th class of Hopes' Peak Academy consists of 15 exceptionally gifted high school students. Graduating from this prestigious institution guarantees a successful future, however, it is a challenging feat. The school is under the governance of a peculiar bear named Monokuma who announces that the only way to graduate is by killing one of their fellow classmates and getting away with it. The twist is that if the killer is caught, they will be the only ones punished. Should the killer evade detection, they can graduate, leaving the others to face the consequences. As the students encounter various challenges, the question remains, which one among the 15 will make it out alive? This adaptation of the manga focuses on the perspective of the other students.
