Utilizing his exceptional observational skills, critical thinking, and extensive knowledge, high school detective Shinichi Kudou has earned praise for rescuing the Japanese Police Department by solving complex cases that challenge law enforcement agencies.
During a trip with his childhood friend Ran Mouri, Shinichi witnesses a suspicious exchange between two individuals and is subsequently abducted. Forced to consume a poison intended to end his life, he undergoes a mysterious transformation and becomes a young elementary school student. Despite being presumed deceased, Shinichi assumes a new name - Conan Edogawa, an homage to famous writers Arthur Conan Doyle and Ranpo Edogawa - to conceal his true identity and moves in with Ran and her detective father.
As a seven-year-old, Conan continues to solve homicide investigations while striving to uncover the reason for his shrunken form and ultimately regain his original persona.
