Yuuken "Yuu" Enma was a typical Japanese high school student, busily preparing for an upcoming kendo competition when he was unexpectedly hit by a black carriage. Upon awakening, he found himself in Twisted Wonderland, a magical world that was far from his previous life.
Unfortunately, Yuu realized that he was not equipped with any magical abilities, and he had no idea how he had ended up in this world. He longed to go back home, but leaving the school grounds seemed impossible.
The headmaster of Night Raven College promised to help Yuu return home but in the meantime, he had to perform menial tasks around the school. This unexpected arrival caught the attention of Riddle Roseheart, the dorm leader of Heartslabyul, who made Yuu his prime target.
As Yuu wandered around the campus, he met Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade, two freshmen from Heartslabyul who became good friends with Yuu. Despite their close bond, Ace and Deuce were expelled from the school for a minor misstep. In an attempt to repair their mistake, Yuu joined them on a perilous mission to rebuild the school property, but their efforts were hindered by the Crimson Tyrant, the head of Heartslabyul, who appeared to have ulterior motives.
