Hinako Uno is feeling the pressure to find love from her loved ones and peers, causing her to put a lot of effort into enhancing her appearance and demeanor. She believes finding someone to fall in love with her will help her love herself. Unfortunately, this hasn't worked out, as Hinako rejects yet another love confession and feels flawed for being unable to return the feeling.
On the other hand, Asahi Satou, Hinako's senior at work, has been taking care of her sister and supporting her family since they lost their last living relative. Asahi's main focus is providing for her sister, leaving little room for love and irrelevant matters.
During one difficult evening, Hinako finds herself crying on a bench when Asahi offers her a bag of doughnuts to console her. As they both open up and reveal their vulnerabilities, a connection forms between them which may offer them both what they've been missing.
