In the past, the zodiac relied on their natural abilities to win races. However, things have changed. Every thousand years, a fresh batch of zodiac creatures must engage in a chaotic battle for ultimate bliss in the Zodiac Royale. To climb up the ranks, each animal has to please their human "master" who binds them. As fate would have it, when Ichika Kotobuki stumbles upon a wounded dog, she becomes Komamaru's master and unwillingly enters the competition. Despite her reservations, she agrees to participate with the condition that they win as she promises a year full of prosperity. Komamaru must channel the traits of showy yet noble tokusatsu heroes to secure his spot in the zodiac and make his master happy.
