On a stormy night, two twins are born where one is perfectly healthy and the other is horrendously disfigured and desires blood instead of milk. The father, unable to come to terms with the situation, sacks the disfigured twin and dumps her at a rubbish pile. The abandoned baby survives by feeding on carrion, earthworms and even the dogs, rats, and crows living at the dumpsite, since if she doesn't have a steady influx of blood, she starts to decay. As she grows, she sets out on a quest towards the city where she realizes that human blood is the best for her and could perhaps uncover information about the family that discarded her.
