A seasoned mountain climber and volunteer in rescue operations, Sanpo Shimazaki has scaled countless peaks around the world and gained a deep appreciation for the challenges, joys, and grandeur of mountains. In Japan's North Alps, where he calls home, many climbers set out on trails with the aim of conquering summits. As these climbers return to their daily routines, Sanpo motivates them with phrases of encouragement like "You persevered splendidly!" and "Come see us again!" Notably, Sanpo's contributions were acknowledged with a Manga Award in 2008, as well as the 54th Shogakukan Manga Award.
