At the young age of 5, Horiguchi Genki faced the loss of his mother and was left to be raised solely by his father. The man, Shark Horiguchi, was once a successful professional boxer, but due to various circumstances, had become a wandering fighter. Despite his father's struggles, Genki held onto the belief that his father was still a powerful boxer and had faith that he would one day become a champion.
