Hikari Hamura, a gifted yet socially awkward 17-year-old high school artist, shared a close bond with his only friend, Chiaki Yamamoto. She affectionately referred to him as "Picasso", and their after-school routine consisted of sketching by the river and reading books. However, their idyllic routine was disrupted when both of them got involved in a fatal helicopter accident that claimed Chiaki's life but spared Picasso with barely a scratch.
Overwhelmed with confusion and despair, Picasso struggled to fathom why fate had played such a cruel trick on him. However, he stumbled upon a tiny Chiaki figurine that held a message he could hardly believe. According to it, Chiaki's prayers had convinced God to spare Picasso's life, but he had to repay the favor by using his artistic talent to solve people's problems.
Despite the daunting task ahead, Picasso agreed to fulfill Chiaki's wish and sought refuge in his sketchbook . He delved into his classmates' issues, drawing solace and inspiration from art, and tried to alleviate their pain through his artistic insights.
