During Homo Sapiens' first phase of extinction, confusion ran rampant as mate competition, countries vied for remediation, and families lost loved ones. To collect research data for a cure, the government mandated that all females take tests. It was then discovered that Ho Su was immune to the radioactive rays. To prevent war between nations over her, Professor Yun kept this finding a secret and convinced Ho Su's father to freeze her in hibernation until a time of stabilized circumstances. This way, the professor could experiment on her to develop a vaccine.
