Tomoo Ogawa, a male high school student, is baffled by the affection of his classmate, Yuka Oomori. Yuka is friendly, cheerful, athletic, and renowned among the school populace, unlike Tomoo. He cannot comprehend why a person as alluring as her would be drawn to someone like himself. In an attempt to act in her best interest, Tomoo distances himself from Yuka.
