Living with his father after his mother left them three years ago, Musashi is hopeful that she'll return to them someday. However, a move from Tokyo to the countryside fills him with distaste and longing for the bustling city. He wonders if his mother will be able to find him in this new environment.
One day, Musashi observes a man luring in bass with a decoy fish and becomes intrigued by the skill of lure fishing. He discovers that his maternal grandfather was a legendary bass fishing champion and believes that fishing may lead him to his missing mother. With the help of newfound friends Mio and Suguru, Musashi embarks on fishing trips to various exotic locations in search of impressive fish. As he immerses himself in nature, Musashi gradually grows to appreciate rural living.
