Despite his basketball talent, Akane Tachibana decides to quit sports clubs due to the pressure they put on him. However, upon entering Kouzu High, he meets the only other basketball player who catches his eye and joins the team. Their first game is against the league's top team, Hyamazaki, where Hiiragi's father coaches and his older brother plays. Hiiragi and Akane struggle to work together, resulting in a loss, until a senior player challenges them to beat him. They unite, inspiring their team to victory and beginning a story of teenage perseverance towards the top.
