As an ordinary high school student, Aoba Wakana finds herself head over heels for the dashing, intelligent, and athletically-gifted Asahina-kun. However, there's one problem: Asahina's biggest love is reserved for Japan's male idols, also known as the "Jokers." As a dedicated "J-Ota guy," Asahina's passion for these idols leaves little room for anything else.
Despite this obstacle, Wakana musters the courage to confess her feelings to Asahina. But unfortunately for her, Asahina doesn't quite understand the depth of her emotions and mistakes her confession as a platonic gesture between fellow "J-Ota" fans.
