Approaching Ludis, the man proclaimed, "You’ve never been of use in your entire life, but now you have the chance to be useful."
Ludis, an illegitimate daughter to the Emperor and mistreated for her perceived worthlessness, was offered as a sacrifice to save the empire from catastrophe. In the midst of the ceremony, a man appeared before her, prompting her to whisper, "I never thought I would meet my end this way."
The man, with his jet-black hair and star-like eyes, asked, "What do you desire?"
Overwhelmed, Ludis replied, "I don't know what to ask for."
"Ask what you wish," the man said, "I’ve been waiting five thousand years to fulfill your desires."
And so, Ludis, the princess sacrificed for her empire, was now bound by contract to Lavane, the ancient god.
