Amidst the frenzy of the gold rush in Europe, a young lad named Jonathan Joestar indulges in the luxuries of life, spending his days frolicking as a gentleman alongside his father at their mansion in Liverpool, England. His moniker, JoJo, is a common token used by his peers. However, Jonathan's utopic lifestyle comes to a screeching halt when an intruder by the name of Dio Brando barges in.
Dio, a youngster hailing from London, is adopted by the Joestar family as a consequence of a debt owed by Jonathan's father to Dio's father. While Jonathan opens himself up to the idea of the new addition to their family, Dio's motives are far from benign as he conspires to usurp the Joestars and acquire their wealth. As Dio's surreptitious machinations spiral out of control, Jonathan is compelled to confront him in a final showdown.
Unbeknownst to him, this would mark the genesis of the Joestar lineage, a saga wherein Jonathan evolves and contends with his adopted brother while encountering a plethora of eccentric acquaintances and challengers.
