Jin made a sculpture as part of his school project, using wood from a sacred tree that had recently been cut down. Just as he was about to take it to class, Nagi, the goddess of the tree, appeared before him. Nagi had been sleeping and was unaware of the tree's fate. Feeling a sense of responsibility to protect the surrounding area from impurities, Nagi convinced Jin to join her on her mission.
