After losing her parents, Shiori Kanzaki set out to find her estranged grandfather in Azakawa Village. To her surprise, she stumbled upon a museum from her childhood and met two interesting people: the mischievous Sakuma and the museum manager, Suga, who only communicated through memos. After some hesitation, Suga agreed to let Shiori stay and explore her family history. He also shared the legend of "Kotori Obake," a terrifying entity known for snatching children from the nearby forest. Now, Shiori must unravel the connection between this myth and her own past, and figure out why mysterious forces are urging her to "fulfill the promise."
