Hiroshi Endou abandoned his education in middle school due to damaging rumors that tarnished his reputation and crushed his self-esteem. Since then, the 16-year-old has become a NEET, languishing in his bedroom. However, his mother intervenes and secures him a job at his uncle's convenience store. Eager to turn his life around, Hiroshi accepts the position as a part-timer but realizes that the job is more daunting than he initially thought.
One fellow worker, Kouhei Yamai, is particularly harsh and critical towards him. Despite Yamai's rough exterior, Hiroshi discovers a softer side to him when he rescues a stray cat from being hit. While Hiroshi is cautious about developing a deeper bond with his colleague, he finds himself drawn to Yamai. Just as their relationship starts to flourish, Hiroshi's past re-emerges, jeopardizing their fragile connection.
