Kumika, an extraterrestrial living amongst accepting peers, sets herself apart by exclusively subsisting on air's nutrients. Her destitute past and peculiarity lead her to shun social invitations and prioritize work, causing her coworkers to view her as distant and unsociable.
Despite striving to maintain her work-first attitude, Kumika eventually collapses from exhaustion. When Chihiro notices Kumika's malnourishment, she offers her a hot bowl of udon - Kumika's first meal. To her surprise, the food instantly revitalizes Kumika, paving the way for her newfound appreciation and enjoyment of Earth's culinary diversity. Her appetite whetted, Kumika embarks on a gastronomical adventure.
