In 2045 A.D., the 37th Long Range Emigration Fleet, known as MACROSS 7, embarked on a journey towards the heart of the Milky Way. The fleet's base of operations was situated on the 7th battleship of the 'MACROSS' class, and they encountered the Barauta during their expedition. A year later, in 2046 A.D., the narrative begins in a combat zone sector.
It's worth mentioning that this Macross installment diverges significantly from its predecessors. Instead of focusing on space combat, mechas are absent throughout the tale. Rather, the series is centered around a sport referred to as "air blading," which bears similarity to the Airgear manga. The Macross universe provides the setting for this one-of-a-kind escapade.
