Hiiro's bus is ambushed one morning, and he finds himself in Tokyo, a city that is meant to be cordoned off. Upon his arrival, he encounters others like him who have the "red eye" - referred to as the Pandora Virus carriers - and forms a bond of solidarity with them. Unfortunately, they are besieged from all angles, and the cause of these aggressions lies in the genetic makeup of Hiiro and his fellow soldiers.
