CDA is a sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam and a prequel to Gundam 0083 and Zeta/ZZ Gundam. It follows the story of Colonel Char Aznable immediately after the One Year War. After the battle of A Baoa Qu, Char leads the remaining Zeon forces towards Axis. It is here where he meets a young 14-year-old named Haman Karn, who develops feelings for Char. However, Char must also confront Colonel Enzo, who has intentions of reigniting hostilities with the EFSF.
