Yukiya Iiyama, a regular boy, is exhausted by the incessant city noises. To drown out the blaring radio that haunts him everywhere, he dons headphones that minimize any audible distractions.
Despite his affinity for music and lyricism, Yukiya's creative flow dwindles when his best friend and writing partner, Natsumi Souda, gains immense popularity as an idol. Her music regularly dominates airwaves, causing Yukiya to feel simultaneously impressed and infuriated as he struggles to write.
One day, Souda unexpectedly appears at the music store where Yukiya works and seeks to reconnect. She inquires about any new compositions he may have and expresses interest in collaborating once again. Though initially apprehensive, Yukiya secretly desires to reignite his composing abilities.
