Mikki Amane is a transfer student who always keeps a detached and aloof attitude in every new school she goes to. However, her usual demeanor is disrupted when she sees her classmate, Nekota, who has a face resembling that of a cat - a peculiarity that only Mikki seems to notice.
Fascinated by Nekota's distinctive look, Mikki endeavors to uncover the truth behind his cat-like features and the reason why she is the only one who perceives him this way. To accomplish this, she takes an unusual step of befriending him and getting closer to him - something unexpected from her apathetic character.
Apart from the main story, the series also features one-shot stories in volumes 2, 3, 9, and 10: "Retake!", "Kumori Sora, Ue no Hou", "Chounouryoku Shoujo Clane", and "Hoshikuzu yori Ai wo Komete".
