Moji Shimeta fits the stereotype of a worthless person perfectly, with his inability to hold a conversation and lack of friends. Despite this, he finds himself desperately in love with school idol Ishikawa Yuuko, a love that is completely and utterly impossible.
When the messenger of the gods, Osaki, appears to grant Moji's request in exchange for his help in catching runaway evil spirits, Moji agrees without hesitation. However, in order to catch the spirits, Moji becomes the vessel for Youko, a servant of Uganomitamanokami (also known as Inari), and is subjected to numerous awkward and humiliating situations.
