Deep within the concealed corners of Chinatown in Los Angeles exists a mysterious pet store enveloped in an alluring veil of fog. Its owner, the enigmatic Count D, manages a peculiar yet amiable assortment of creatures. Count D extends a warm welcome to those feeling lonely or heartbroken, offering "love, dreams, and hope" through his exotic animals. However, each creature comes with a stringent contract and set of guidelines, with Count D cautioning that he cannot be held accountable for any outcomes resulting from the buyers' actions.
Notorious detective Leon Orcot connects various criminal activities to Count D's business, suspecting it to be a pet store of horrors. Orcot steadfastly endeavors to gather evidence, frequently visiting the shop, convinced that the Count is a criminal mastermind.
