The front cover of the manga Phantom Bullet depicts a woman dressed in black with a hat, who gruesomely kills a man to obtain a book. Fast forward 15 years later, and a young girl witnesses her mother's murder by Nazi soldiers in Wadowice, Poland in 1944. After burying the mother, the priest of the village shares a strange story with the girl. He had been given the dangerous book by unknown individuals, which he hid in the chapel. Although hesitant, the girl finds the book, recites its incantations, and summons a mysterious man who helps her seek revenge.
The man summons a dragon, and they set out to find the Nazis who killed her mother. As they destroy the soldiers, a woman in black suddenly reappears.
