A young girl named Hazel has fallen head over heels for Almond, a skilled Pokémon trainer. To capture his heart, she seeks the help of her grandpa, who happens to be a hopeless magician and a Pokémon scholar. Despite his lack of knowledge in potion-making, he concocts a love potion for Hazel. Unfortunately, the potion creates a flashy explosion in his lab, leaving Hazel no choice but to search for a stronger one. Driven by her infatuation for Almond, Hazel sets out on a globetrotting adventure to study any and every kind of Pokémon she could find, hoping to impress him with her newfound understanding.
