This contemporary fantasy weaves together the mystical Japanese Shinto legends. Suzuhara Izumiko grew up in a secluded shrine nestled deep within the Kumano Mountains, possessing an unusual gift that causes any electronic device she touches to malfunction. Despite longing for a change of scenery in the bustling metropolis, her caretaker, Sagara Yukimasa, has other plans for her. He encourages her to attend a prestigious high school in Tokyo with the help of his son, Miyuki, who becomes Izumiko's loyal servant. At first, Miyuki is reluctant to pledge a lifetime of devotion to Izumiko, and she finds his constant presence suffocating. However, after an extraordinary turning point, they both uncover their remarkable powers: Izumiko is the sole surviving Himegami goddess, and Miyuki is her sworn guardian Yamabushi who will stop at nothing to protect her.
