Sakai, a second-year culinary student, dreams of opening a restaurant that will move people just like his grandfather did. Unfortunately, he has hit his limit: commuting three hours every morning to school has left him overworked and exhausted, to the point of passing out in class. Despite lacking the funds, he cannot afford to live closer to his school. But fate intervenes when a fellow student tells him about a nearby room rental that seems too good to be true. And so begins a strange and intriguing story about Sakai and his four roommates.
