Yusa Tachikawa, a first-year high school student, developed a crush on a tall and athletic senior from the basketball team. In the hopes of interacting with him, she frequently joined her best friend Nanami Sugio to attend the team's practice.
One rainy day, when Yusa's classmate Kaede Haruta sought shelter at her part-time workplace, she recommended her favorite shoujo manga to him. The following day, Yusa found out that Nanami also harbored feelings for her crush. Afraid that Nanami would suppress her emotions, Yusa feigned affection for Haruta, even asking him to be her pretend boyfriend. Despite Haruta not being her ideal type, Yusa began to question if her feelings for him were genuine beyond their façade.
