You Mizunashi's residual memories consist of images of a jungle and victims of war. As the son of a doctor, he questions whether these memories are genuinely his or simply figments of his imagination. In his quest for his own truth, You isolates himself from his peers and becomes an easy target for school bullies.
When a stranger, bearing a gaping wound on his abdomen, comes to You's aid during one such attack, You rushes to help the enigmatic figure known only as "R," who trades in secrets. In exchange for his aid, You learns a great deal about R and the secrets he keeps.
