Rozen, an acclaimed dollmaker, created a collection of extraordinary dolls: the Rozen Maidens. Instead of their materials, what set them apart was their life force, the Rosa Mystica - a precious stone that gave them animation. However, the dolls were limited by a singular objective - to engage in the Alice Game; a competition where they clashed until one was declared Alice, the perfect girl who would have the chance to meet their creator.
Jun Sakurada, a private middle school pupil, had his first encounter with the Alice Game when Shinku, the fifth Rozen Maiden, appeared at his door. Despite initially finding her condescending, they partnered up to face other dolls. Jun became Shinku's medium, providing his vitality to help them in their battles.
As more dolls entered their home, Jun and Shinku questioned if harmony was genuinely possible given their existence demanded conflict.
