Takehiko Nakamaru has spent 17 years honing his skills for any challenge that comes his way, yet his secluded lifestyle unnerves his younger sister and grandfather. They worry that Takehiko's way of life is hindering his sister's search for a husband, leading his grandfather to encourage him to seek employment and live a normal life. Despite their advice, Takehiko ventures from his rural hometown to Tokyo by hitchhiking, driven purely by his desire to ensure his sister's happiness. Determined to face life head-on, he quickly realizes that the people in the bustling city are not as kind as he had hoped, and he finds himself penniless and starving. In the midst of his struggles, he meets a man facing similar hardships, who extends an offer of friendship.
