Only individuals with samurai ancestry are authorized to wield swords in present-day Japan. Word has been circulating in the city about Shiroyasha, a cryptic swordsman who has been provoking and enticing many experienced swordsmen to engage in combat with him. While on his way to Shiroyasha's abode, Ibuki observes a confrontation involving Kokonoe, his schoolmate and the most impressive swordsman at their school. Intrigued by Kokonoe's proficiency and swordplay, Ibuki makes up his mind to uncover further details about this enigmatic student.
