Yae Saotome, the Female Featherweight Champion of the Kanto region, has expressed her love for Satoru Tsukishima, her fellow high school boxing club member. While he is initially thrilled, he can't help but feel that Yae should concentrate on her boxing career instead. As the school anxiously awaits Yae's representation of Tokyo in the Olympics, Satoru is troubled by the fact that he is nowhere near as talented as Yae and can't imagine why a rising star like her would be interested in someone so average like him.
Despite his reservations, their coach assigns Satoru to train Yae after learning of her confession, giving them the opportunity to date each other secretly while participating in club activities. However, if their relationship is discovered, it could mean the end of everything. Regardless, their story of tender and awkward moments together begins.
