Upon arriving in America to attend college, Satoko, a Japanese woman, was elated to meet her new roommate, Nada, a woman from Saudi Arabia who dressed modestly. Although their cultures were vastly different, the two formed a fast friendship, and Satoko was impressed by Nada's fashion sense and attentiveness to life, as well as her devout Islamic practices.
