Ide Nobuhisa shows great promise as a runner with his energetic personality. However, his life takes a surprising turn when he becomes captivated by a certain pair of legs that enchant him like no other. These legs belong to a young tennis player who offers to teach Ide, inspiring him to seize the opportunity. Ide works hard and passes the entrance exam for Makunogama High School, only to find out that the girl who stole his heart doesn't exist. Determined not to give up, Ide joins the school's tennis club with an old friend and meets Takita Louis, a talented first-year player with a haughty attitude.
Despite this setback, Ide's prayers are answered when his crush finally steps forward. But he soon learns that he had misread her tennis tag and mistaken her for someone else. Takada Hinako, once a passionate tennis club member, now suffers from an injury that makes it impossible for her to use her left leg. She is no longer the same person and cannot keep her promise to Ide.
Destiny has other plans for Ide as he teams up with Louis for the upcoming inter-high school tournament. A gripping match takes place between the two very different players. Ide shows his quick progress but falls short until Hinako gives him the guidance he needs to succeed.
