As a child, Yasuoka Shion suffered a grievous loss when her parents were murdered, and she was left unable to speak. She was found in a bloody room, with only a Shougi board and the King piece providing any semblance of evidence. Overcoming such a traumatic experience, Shion fought hard to become a successful female Shougi player. But with fame comes scrutiny, and her troubled past- particularly the unresolved murder case- continues to haunt her.
