Thirteen years ago, a devastating crash claimed the lives of nearly all occupants aboard a plane, except for Megumi Miyashita, who miraculously survived. Since then, Megumi has possessed an extraordinary power in her left eye, which allows her to see two versions of each person, with one always telling the truth and the other lying.
Though reserved and soft-spoken, Megumi has a close friendship with Ayaka Mitani, an energetic member of the school basketball team. Their world takes an unexpected turn when Ayaka abruptly goes missing, claiming she is ill. Despite Megumi's efforts to connect with Ayaka, she remains unresponsive, and her mother is unhelpful in providing any concrete information. Adding to the perplexity is the growing interest shown to Megumi by the new science teacher, Shouhei Suzuki, who impresses the students with his youthful charm and bachelor status, just as Megumi embarks on a search for her missing friend.
