Usamaru Furuya's manga series, Short Cuts, features nearly 100 quick comic strips, called 'cuts', and made its debut in the Young Sunday magazine. Spanning across two volumes, the series provides a comical take on the Japanese youth culture, particularly the kogal trend. Visual puns, black comedy, and titillating humor are used to depict various facets of this contemporary Japanese culture.
