At a certain elementary school, there is an eleven-year-old boy who is rather unpleasant and harbors a cynical view of society. He despairs of the world's lack of uniqueness, and longs to be someone unforgettable. Suddenly, when he is diagnosed with a new incurable disease, the boy believes his wish has come true. Unfortunately, the disease is estimated to take his life before he reaches the age of twelve.
However, his joy is short-lived when he meets a bright, talented girl who also suffers from the disease and will soon be twelve. Realizing he won't be the first one to die and thus won't be remembered, he concocts a twisted scheme: he will take the life of the girl before she succumbs to the illness.
